Here are answers to some of the most common body coloring / spray tan questions.

 

Q. How far in advance should I get body coloring?

If you are participating in a fitness competition, we recommend that you get body coloring the day before or two days before.

Q. Are there any different tan shades?

There are three shades: Brazilian (light color), Jamaican (dark color), and Protan. If you have a fair skin tone, we recommend that you come get a spray tan two days in a raw to apply an extra coat for darker look.

Q. What does each tan shade look like?

Protan (Super Dark) is made in the states and has a fairly predominant yellow/orange undertone while Jamaican is made in Japan and has a bitter brown undertone.

Q. How long does a body coloring session take?

We allocate about 40-50 minutes for each client. If your body dries quickly, you’ll be done in approximately 30 minutes.

Q. Should I shave or get a wax before body coloring?

Your tan will look good with shaved or waxed skins. Know that you'll want to aim for around 48 hours before your spray tan.

Q. Why do spray tans not work on me?

Spray tans don’t work properly if you have something on the skin acting as a barrier such as moisturizers and body oil.
Also, if you’ve had a breast augmentation surgery, it is difficult for a tan to set or develop around your chest.

Q. Can I take a shower at night after body coloring?

Please refrain from taking a shower on the day of treatment. It takes around 8 hours for the color to develop on your skin. Be careful with water during the development process as a tan will be washed off with it.

Q. Can I use the sauna or take a bath after getting body coloring done?

You can do it after showering the next morning.

Q. Is it okay if I go to a beauty salon after body coloring?

A tan of your neck will come off if you have your hair washed at the beauty salon. It’s recommended to go get hair done before your body coloring appointment, or you should do it after a shower in the next morning.

Q.Can I apply a moisturizer to my skin after body coloring?

It’s okay to moisturize your skin because moisturizing will help a tan last longer. However, some fitness groups don't allow petroleum jelly, so please check the official website of the fitness group you're participating in.

Q. What should I wear for my body coloring appointment?

Dark colored, loose-fitting clothes are recommended. Please note that if you want to get a spray tan on your face, you can’t wear a mask or glasses after getting it done.

Q. What should I do if spray tans get on my clothes?

Even if the bronzer get on your clothes, it will come off by soaking them in detergent, but with that being said it may not be completely removed depending on the material.
Hence, avoid wearing important clothes on the day of your appointment, and come in black loose-fitting clothes.
